Introduction au bulletin 2018

"We invite you to read AVI-Canada's 2018 special bulletin of which our president Claire took charge. A big thank you to this one for her generous implication which made it possible to publish it in the year of Cinquantenaire.

Canada and Quebec have been present since the very founding of Auroville, as shown in a photo on the front page of the Bulletin. For those who do not know, I would recall this special story about the inauguration of Auroville February 28, 1968 as Madeleine Gosselin had reported. At the ceremony there were two representatives from Canada, Stephen Inglis and Terry Delanny, who came to deposit Canadian soil in the Urn. Madeleine, present on the scene, was very moved by the ceremony. An Indian organizer who knew her well thought that she was saddened not to be in the participants. A board has been made, with the letters of the word Quebec, inbetween the letters of the word Canada, and to replace the land, it is salt that Madeleine has deposited in the Urn on behalf of Quebec, accompanied by French Jean-Pierre Bunel (alias Goupi, always present in Auroville) who held the sign [in the Gospel the salt of the earth is associated with the Light of the world]."
